Video Transcript

00:00 Welcome to BetterSheets. This is a tour of what's available in BetterSheets, and I wanted to make this updated for 2026.
00:10 Right now it's March 2026, so this is how BetterSheets works and what you get as a member. And I'm going to try to give you the tour to find the most interesting stuff you can do, you can get.
00:24 Things you are capable of doing now that you're a BetterSheets member. So let's sign in, and I want to start with formulas.
00:31 If you're looking to, uhm, get better at some formulas or understand them better, or you're like, hey, this particular formula I just screwed up, how do I fix it?
00:48 Go to bettersheets.co slash formulas, and it is literally every single formula, and it is a whole database of them from an alphabetical ish.
00:59 No, they're not in alphabetical order. They're in order of, I think, how many videos I have. So every one of them, let's look at any random one.
01:08 Let's look at Sparkline, for example. It will describe the formula for you, but it will also share with you that there are seven BetterSheets tutorials, videos, that include that formula, Sparkline, in it.
01:22 So, if you want to go see how it's used, and not necessarily a focus of the video, sometimes it is, but most times it's not.
01:29 Like, here's a checklist. Uhm, here's a, I was building a year progress clone. You can click on that. Click on that video, and that video will include Sparkline in it.
01:40 So, this one is 31 minutes. Probably watch it at, like, 2, 2.5x speed, and see where it is. Then, here's more, uhm, formulas.
01:50 On the bottom of every video, you can click on the formula, and it will take you to the, back to the formula.
01:55 Here's Sparkline. We'll click on that. Back here, and then you can see what other videos. Include that. So, let's, uh, let's go to this video, BetterSheets Videos Checklist, and then if I click on a different one, let's say Count If, now I'm on Count If page.
02:13 Well, up here in your URL bar, I want to show you this trick, is if you want to just go straight to the formula, you just have to go to bettersheets.co slash formulas slash the name of the formula.
02:28 So, let's do Len. That's length, or, or, that's the counting of the characters. Let's do Len. There it is, Len.
02:35 So, bettersheets.co slash formulas slash any of the formulas, and you'll get a page like this. It'll have the description and the videos on the right side.
02:44 Also, if there are no videos or very few videos, this'll be easier to see. You'll have more, uhm, links to other outside sources.
02:57 So, these outside sources include YouTube videos, they include blogs of other people, other creators. They're not necessarily just me. I'm just giving this to you as like a way to say, here, or go learn this formula any way you want.
03:13 If a formula is pretty hard to generate the actual, like, final thing, they'll have a link here to Google Sheets Formula Generator.
03:24 This is fantastic. I mean, honestly, this is, I use this quite often, actually. Uhm, in client work, funny enough, uh, there will be something where someone's like, hey, I need this particular, uh, sheet to filter this sheet, but by these, blah, blah, blah, and they'll go off on, like, a few different
03:46 things, and I'm like, oh, yeah, oh, but if this happens and this happens, and, and I love using if as a, a formula, but I also use loving filter, I love using those in combination, and, and all these kinds of things, well, sometimes I get confused over, okay, I need to make an edit to this, or I need
04:03 to do one or two steps that I have not done before, and I will literally describe the, what, what the person does, describe it, give it a range of data, like, I know the problem in general, and they're saying, I need this, and I'm like, okay, let's get AI to generate this formula, and it does, it does
04:23 , and I'm like, oh, my God, it's, it's, so quick, uhm, really fun. So, I shared with you formulas, I shared with you the Google Sheet Formula Maker, uh, to generate it.
04:34 Again, this is fantastic, and it's, it's free for members. Members, lifetime members, you can use this. Uhm, if you want to see the newest tutorials, go to bettersheets.co.uk slash tutorials, and also, isn't this Explorer to.
04:49 A couple fun things here is it will show you the newest one right away, but also over on the left, you'll get a random tutorial.
04:59 This is literally a random tutorial. I'm not, uh, suggesting any tutorials. I've made this so that it is grabbing a, every time you refresh the sheet, it grabs a random URL of a tutorial and click it, and you can, it will take you literally to a completely random one.
05:17 Um, just discover some cool stuff over on the left. So you can, um, there's some filters. So if you just want to see all the ones that have if or the advanced ones or beginner ones or intermediate, or you want to see the most popular that I've tagged the most popular, um, there you go.
05:35 There's some fun tags over there. That's it. You can, there is some pagination here, some multiple pages if you want, but the newest ones might be the coolest ones.
05:45 Tweets from a sheet, scrape Google Maps. Oh, I, I did this twice. So I, I made a Google Maps scraper, actually three times.
05:53 I made a Google Maps scraper. Then I added a phone. I needed to grab the phone number and somebody asked for the reviews.
05:59 And then, um, Thank you. I wanted to quickly WhatsApp the phones, uh, quickly that we were searching for. So I made that and I showed it to you really, really cool tool.
06:09 I mean, this is a really awesome tool that has, has basically made a, I don't know how to, uh, yeah, an outreach tool, cold outreach tool, really, really simple.
06:23 Um, I just searched for, for people. Places online, uh, on Google Maps and I get them and I get their, their number and then I click a, a single button that has a message already attached into it and it opens WhatsApp and it sends it and then I can send that message really, really quick, um, to, to do
06:40 a hundred outreaches a day. I, I wouldn't say you should do more. I, I should say maybe probably do less, but, um, really, really awesome.
06:49 A way to start a really local business, uh, that I, truth be told, I did this for my, my wife is starting a business and needed to do this specific thing, um, in, and she's doing it in mass and doing very well, uh, getting a good conversion rate from this of just literally outreaching to people and being
07:05 like, Hey, who can I talk to? Who's the person in charge? Who's the manager in charge? Like, can I talk to them and about this thing that I want to do at your business?
07:13 Done. Bye-bye. Um, there is bettersheets.com slash topics, which is explored by category. These are topics I've created, um, that I thought, okay, these, like, if you want to deal with Google Sites, Google Forms, embed Google Sheets, data analysis, um, I think the best one is build your own tools.
07:33 This is a bunch of awesome videos where we just build something cool. That's about it. Just go there. Um, let's keep going.
07:42 Uh, courses. This is probably what you're interested in a lot of. If you are a beginner, I would say go to, um, learn to code in Google Sheets.
07:57 This is super quick, less than an hour, I think it's only 30 minutes total. Um, just watch, see the coding, and then do Spreadsheet Automation 101.
08:08 If you've already, like, you know about Apps Script a little bit, go to Spreadsheet Automation 101. This, number one course, number one by far.
08:18 Learn to code in Google Sheets for two reasons. One, to automate stuff that you've already been doing, but two, to build cool tools.
08:25 Build cool stuff, and use AI to do this. So, once you know the basics of automation, and how Google Sheets automate things, then you can use AI to add code to your sheets, and do way cooler stuff.
08:39 If you, however, put AI first, and you're like, hey, I'm gonna go to AI, I'm gonna say Apps Script, make me a sheet that does X, Y, and Z, and then I copy-paste that into my Google Sheet, you will get errors.
08:49 Uh, AI does hallucinations, AI, uh, puts, it, it makes guesses, it adds optional things, but it adds them so you don't know that they're optional unless you read through it, and you know how to read through it, and you see, oh, there's a comment that says optional.
09:06 It literally has done that to me, of, like, adding these things that I'm like, I do not want to do that in any way, shape, or form, and it just added it, and it says, you know, a little comment, it said optional, and I'm like, no, don't do that.
09:17 So, um, Spreadsheet Automation 101 will save you a lot of headache, a lot of time, it will save your soul, uh, you will not just have to deal with AI at all, you will be able to use your brain and edit the Google Sheet and Apps Scripts yourself from AI, but AI will really, really, really make your life
09:37 amazing. instead of make it really, really dreadful. Okay, uhm, that's all I want to focus on there. There's a bunch of other courses that are cool, like Selling Spreadsheets and stuff, but, uh, Spreadsheet Automation 101, number one course overall, so if you are just beginning in better sheets, go there
09:53 , check out Spreadsheet Automation 101. If at first you're like, pfft, this is a bit much, go to Learn to Code, do that first, but honestly, I, just jump in.
10:02 Just dive in, go to Spreadsheet Automation 101 and just dive in. I go through every little bit of the code, like the little, what the dot means here, what a bracket means here.
10:12 I, I did this as a live workshop once, not once, a few times, and each time, all the questions I got, I made them into videos.
10:20 And that's what you get here with Spreadsheet Automation 101. You get all of those questions that people ask, you get the answers right away before you even ask it.
10:26 Um, let's go on. Tools. These are incredible. Not to, to toot my own horn, but if you're a monthly member, you get the free ones.
10:39 But if you're a lifetime member, you get all of this. This is like $388 of retail value. Um, yes, these ones are fine.
10:47 I should probably put some featured ones at the top that are more interesting. Um, Bigger Brain is so much fun.
10:54 If you have a Google Doc that you've written, and it, and it's like a expertise, like you've written your, your, your, your experience, you wrote your experience, and you're trying to put that as a blog post, and you're like, hey, this is what I went through, and here's how to do it.
11:06 Maybe it's educational, and you're like, hey, here's how to do X, Y, and Z, and here's how I did it.
11:09 And you wrote it in a Google Doc. You get Bigger Brain right now, because what it'll do is it'll not make your experience better, but it will make your reading of your article better and more helpful.
11:21 You can add a quiz to your, uh, writing. You can add, uh, quotes. You can add, um, links to your other things.
11:30 So you give it a bunch of video links or tutorial links, and it will figure out which ones to focus on, and it will write.
11:38 Oh, my God. This is, like, so much fun. It will write a little phrase, a little sentence or two about why you're reading this, and you should go read this next.
11:48 Really, really awesome. Bigger Brain, I think, is one of the top three coolest things I've ever made, and I wish more and more people would use it.
11:57 I wish more and more people would abuse it and make their articles online. Way better. But it doesn't edit your article.
12:06 That's the coolest thing, is you write your experience, you write your expertise, and then it adds to it, and you can add a bunch of stuff or a couple of things.
12:13 Oh, uh, you can add an FAQ, a jargon keyword dictionary, uh, it'll go through and figure out any words that are, like, a little jargony, and then it will define them.
12:23 Oh, my God. Great for SEO. Oh, the FAQ. It will create schema, FAQ schema, so Google can read your article way better, easier.
12:31 By far, I think, again, top three. I think the best thing I ever made was OnlySheets. I think that's just so much fun, and it was such a crazy thing.
12:40 It was an invention. I was curious, can it be done? Yes. You can connect a payment processor to your Google Sheet, and so that only people who OnlySheets, by far, best invention I've ever made, number one.
12:54 Top three, definitely BiggerBrain. Big Year, actually, was just a template. It's a calendar. Go grab it. It is free for everyone.
13:04 All of these, everything here is free for Lifetime members, monthly members. Don't be scared to buy one of these. CouponCodeMaker, I think it was cool.
13:15 I wish people would use it. I use it all the time. Make one-time coupon codes from Gumroad products, um, make unique codes, unique styles of codes, make, uh, all, uh, cool stuff.
13:28 I, I think it's really fun. All right, but yeah, check out all these tools. Links to Gumroad, if you click on it, it will take you here, and then you can get now, if you are, uh, um, if you are a lifetime member, this link will have the, the coupon attached to it to make it free.
13:48 If you're a lifetime member, if you're not, you'll just get a link to it. Cool. Um, Apps Script. Oh my God.
13:55 If you're trying to do Apps Script and you're like, I just want to like, see some Apps Script. Check out this page and also browse the code examples at bettersheets.co slash snippets.
14:10 These are actual, I use this, these, this is where I put stuff where I'm like, Oh, I need a copy and paste this all the time.
14:17 Um, so yeah, you will find really like this custom phone. I can never remember that it's just the custom function.
14:26 Go use it. Use this, copy and paste it and put these things into your, um, spreadsheets. Just really simple use cases.
14:35 You can copy, paste, um, that's about it. Uh, Google sheets, formula generator. That was cool. What else? That was all the Explorer formulas, tutorials, categories, courses, tools you can buy if you're not a lifetime member.
14:50 Bye-bye. Bye-bye. If you're a monthly member, um, get it. Apps Script, formula generator, cool. Freebies, add-ons, get these add-ons. I don't know if this is gonna, oh, yeah.
14:58 These are absolutely free add-ons you can get. Spintax is a cool little thing that, um, helps with copywriting, maybe? Ad making?
15:09 Sheet styles actually will change the look and feel of your sheets, tiny sheets. Just make, uh, a, smaller sheets. Button styles make cool buttons.
15:18 Um, those are absolutely free. Go check them out. Um, let me share some secret parts of the site. I don't know if I've done this yet.
15:30 This is a free tool you should use now and forever is bettersheets.co slash download. If you have a Google Sheet, let me see spreadsheet.
15:43 This is like a fake spreadsheet. I have shared it with everyone in the world. If I go up to the URL, docs.google, and I turn docs.google into docs.google, literally the word D-O-T, and I hit enter, it will automatically fill in the URL in bettersheets.co slash download.
16:03 And it will give you links that you can copy, and you can use, and you can give out to either export as a CSV, download as a PDF, Excel, copy the sheet if you want, if you, this is the URL of that other sheet, and then copy it, template, preview, HTML mode, embedded view, all of these are available to
16:25 you. all of the URL hacks that exist, here they are, and it's done for you. Totally free tool, make Google Sheets into these actionable links, and they will download as a PDF without even opening the sheet.
16:43 It's really, really cool. That is a super secret thing you can use now, and a super secret way to do, use your Google URLs in the site and turn it into this link right here.
16:53 Uhm, I want to show you another super secret part of the site, which is new, which is bettersheet.co.uk sites, turn spreadsheets into websites.
17:03 This is something I'm literally working on. It's March, 2026. Uhm, you can see what it's like, put your Google Sheets URL here, and then choose a template, and see it.
17:13 Can't save it yet. Try it out. Look at it, let me know what you think. Uh, email me, andrew at bettersheets.co, and I'm more than happy to answer your questions about turning your website, site, turning your sheets into websites, not your websites into sheets.
17:27 If you want to turn websites into sheets, oh my god, then, uh, you're probably scraping stuff. I have a bunch of, search up here, scrape.
17:36 Uhm, and it will, will bring you to, scrape Google Maps, scrape Google Maps, there. That's what you can do. Uhm, yeah, so you can search up here, you can explore, there's some free stuff, there are some templates here, available, uh, if you are a member, like SheetOps is free for lifetime members, oh
18:02 , yeah, SheetOps, oh my God, I should share that, share that with you, uhm, it's a task manager, but, like, literally connects to Google Tasks, Google Calendar, it's phenomenal, it's, it's an invention that I was like, why didn't it, why doesn't this thing exist, I put all my to-dos into a Google Sheet
18:23 , but then I have other people that I have to delegate to, but then I always forget, it. Did I, what did I delegate to them, and when, this remembers, this is the, the premium delegator, uhm, the best delegator ever, because it will remember what you delegated to someone, and it will give them a Google
18:38 Calendar for a due date, or a Google Task for yourself, oh, it's fantastic, uhm, but yeah, search up here for anything you want, uh, on BetterSheets, Go Explore some courses, go and check out the latest tutorials, and I shared with you the, the next tools that I'm creating, uhm, go check out, yeah, sites
19:04 , bettersheets.com slash sites if you want to see that, again, it's, it, I am literally building it now, so don't expect it to work as great as anything else, uhm, but, expect the best.
