0:00 Hello members, I just did a live session of upgrading this Google Maps scraper. Um, this should help your outreach and help you keep managing your outreach consistently.
0:13 If you're reaching out to businesses that are on Google Maps and you want their phone number and then you want to reach out to them by WhatsApp, this sheet will do it.
0:21 I will show you how to set this up and I will show you how to use it. So first off, you need an API key.
0:29 I'm going to get that from Places' new API. You do have to pay for this. This is console, cloud console, Google's cloud console.
0:39 You need to do two things. One, enable Places' API, new, but also you need to set up an OAuth consent client.
0:48 So, do those two things, and this will work. If you do not do those two things, something will happen. One, you'll probably get an error that there's no API key that works.
0:57 Two, you will see nothing. Basically, it'll search, but it will give you no results. If you do not set up the OAuth consent screen, the second one will happen.
1:07 You will search, but get no results. So you need to do both those steps. And, I also need you to write a message.
1:12 This message is something that you would put into WhatsApp to actually reach out. So, in this case, we're like an alternative milk supplier, and we're going to reach out to coffee shops, matcha shops, tea shops.
1:25 Once you have your API key here, once you have set up your OAuth consent screen, all you have to do is go up to Get Places in here, search Google Maps, it might ask for authorization the first time you do it, but we're going to look for coffee shops in Boca Raton.
1:48 Let's go. It will create a page, a tab for this, exact search, coffee shops. You can do multiple searches. Then, once you have these searches, and you want to reach out to them, this WhatsApp link is, if we'll expand, includes this message live.
2:10 So we can click on this link, it will open WhatsApp, it will make you send the message to them, click a few buttons, but that's it, done, sent a message.
2:18 So let's say I sent a message to this Tiki Coffee and Desserts. Well, I come back here and say outreach, and it will highlight it.
2:29 And I need to create a sheet called Outreach, and it does it for me! Look, it's creating it. Okay, let's try that again.
2:34 If we say, I outreach to this dessert place, I'm gonna go up here, click Outreach, it's going to create a sheet called Outreach, if I don't have one, let's do that again, let's do Outreach, and it copies the one there.
3:06 So let's say we reached out to a few of these, we like them. Pots and Main Coffee. This is not necessarily for bulk, it is for, like, very nice personalization, or just reaching out to a few places a day.
3:22 Uhm, but you see we have these three places, so we said Coffee Shops in Boca Raton. Now let's do another search, a very slight iteration, Coffee Boutique in Boca Raton.
3:37 And we can do this multiple times, right, slight tweaks on our search, it's going to search for all of the places, but also it's going to check if I've already outreached it, so I don't have to go between tabs and say which ones did I outreach, it's going to highlight them already, the ones that I've
3:55 outreached, so that's going to save me a lot of time. Also, now this Outreach tab becomes available. It becomes kind of like a CRM, or at least some kind of manager where I can add a status here, I can add more notes if I want, saying things like I've reached out to them, they've replied, we have to
4:16 do X, Y, or Z, now this becomes a bit of a CRM, or you can always just export this to a CRM and say, okay, now here's the people who we are talking to.
4:28 I like the idea that this could be expanded, and I'd be very interested to know if any members here on BetterSheets actually do use this, and what you use it for, and then what extra little features you need.
4:39 Like, maybe there already is a status here, and you get a positive or negative response, or you move them between some other things.
4:49 Ideally, this sheet does remain as a Google Maps scraper for outreach, not the entire process, but I do understand how a lot of people will want to say, okay, I want to do my entire process here.
5:03 However, that's if you do it, because the API key is here, and by the time I've released this video, this API key will be deleted or rolled.
5:13 Uhm, but I, I understand the want to sort of do everything here. However, uhm, we could add a whole bunch of cool features to this kind of, uhm, search.
5:26 I was thinking through things, some things, and, and just didn't implement them yet. It's like, when I do a, a particular type of search, maybe I want to do that search over multiple iterations.
5:37 Like, uh, using Spintax, uh, to say, okay, I have, I, I want coffee places. Well, there's coffee shops, boutiques, coffee, uhm, coffee store, coffee roaster.
5:51 There's a lot of coffee X plus X word that I can search for. And I don't necessarily want them on separate tabs.
5:59 I want them all in one tab, but only the word. I want the ones that are unique, right? So that's another way of, like, making this better as, like, a searcher.
6:09 Basically, it's stopping us from having to click on Google Maps, search, copy and paste into a sheet that here's the ones we want to reach out to.
6:19 And then it's also allowing us to just click their phone number that they have publicly shown and reach out to them.
6:25 And in that case, also, these messages might be personalized, or at least maybe the name of the place. I was using this for something else, for a little family business we're starting, and I did think of, like, moving the name over into this message, But I didn't really like I really understand exactly
6:52 why, because a lot of them are not exactly the way that I would refer to the place And depending on how I'm messaging them, or why I'm messaging them, maybe I don't need the name of the place And also, I think that's also a very simple quote-unquote personalization that a lot of people would see through
7:16 Like, if it's literally the name copy and pasted from the Google Maps site, people will know that Especially these Carmela Coffee Park Place, Carmela Park, Brick But, like, Carmela Coffee at Brick or Carmela Coffee at Park Place We're messaging that specific place, even though these phone numbers are
7:37 , oh, they are unique I thought they were going to be the same phone number Also, yeah, are there any places that have the same phone number?
7:42 Should we group them together? Uhm, and are there, yeah, I'm wondering if there's more things to do with this And, so, please email me, andrew at bittersheets.co If you are using this Google Maps Scraper for outreach Also, if you have a great name, let me know, I would love to hear that you have a great
8:04 name for this Something punny, something fun, or useful Uhm, if you know the, what you've Google searched for in the past to find a Google Maps Scraper and reach out by phone number or WhatsApp, let me know whatever you search for, and I'm happy to name it that, right?
8:22 That's probably the best thing, name it. Alright That's it for this one. Hopefully you enjoyed this Google Maps Scraper for Outreach.
8:30 Thanks.
