Hello Better Sheets members. I'm so excited to share this with you because this was super simple but create such an interesting amount of ideas. I created a business idea generator template that you can use for a lot of. Reasons or ways, I have a video already that I made here for everyone that's gonna be able to get this template on the how-to page.

I share with you and everyone how to actually use this. But as a better sheet member, I wanted to share with you some interesting things that I think could be even improved upon this sheet beyond how it works now and maybe even some different use cases. Right away. How I did this, I'll explain a little bit how I did it and why I did it this way is I have 10 parts of an idea, like what a business is like.

Is it a marketplace, is it a service business? Is it course video course? Who it's for. List of 10 potential people who it's for, and 10 potential different prices. And it takes all of these and iterates through all of the iterations for permutations and says, for digital download, I wanna know, I wanna see a sentence that says I wanna create a digital download for P shop owners for a hundred dollars or for a dollar or for free.

And you can see here's the digital, oops, I just changed something. Digital download for marketers for free. And you can see all of the prices here, and then you can see all the prices again, but for a different person. And what's really cool about this is. You can then input this kind of thing into either a randomizer, I might even make a randomizer on the sheet thinking about it right now as I'm talking about it.

You might be able to even use this template to create, say key word iterations or permutations for potential blog posts. You can use this for potentially a lot of mad Libby kind of things where you don't, you might not need a thousand iterations, but maybe you're a copywriter and you wanna show someone.

10, 20, 50 permutations and try them. AB testing somewhere, but you just need to grab that text from somewhere. And here's where you can get that text and you can even go to the export page. It is simply a list 1000. It can command down arrow to the bottom. It is a thousand rows, and it's just taking the array from the other side.

And you can just take this file, download csv file. I go through this in the how to use video. But some other ways I can use this is if I can change this sentence, right? The what is hardcoded in here is a four and four. I'll show you how to, I actually show you in the video how to edit this as well.

But I'll show you again. Here is a, is there four and four? This is the sentence. And I think if you are looking to use this as a a business itself and you want to create a generator for some someone else or your clients what I would suggest is to take this text and actually make it an input here.

Okay? So how you might do that. Is either settings tab. So I'm just gonna quickly do this and then I'm gonna undo it so that if someone is looking at this sheet, they're gonna be using this template that's not a Better Sheets member. I'm actually gonna be releasing this template soon to people who are not.

So I'm gonna do this for you, but just so you can see how I would edit this and make this a little bit better. So I would start sentence. Start of sentence, middle and end of sentence. Doesn't really matter when I put it here. I just want to separate the three ideas of what we're doing so we know what we're grabbing.

And then this is just to teach you how to edit this. Edit this code so you can make it a little bit nicer for your clients or someone else who's gonna use this. So this text here, this a. We get all these variables here. So let's go create another variable and we're gonna call it begin. And it's on the inputs page.

This part is all of the it's on the settings page. Sorry, this part shares with us how to get to the inputs page, but we need to get to the settings page. Cause we just created that. So we go variable inputs, let's do settings, and then this sheet name is just gonna be called settings, right?

There we go. And so if we look back here, I just wanna double check that we did that all cap settings and we're looking at B C2 for the start or beginning, it's probably a good to have the correct name. So we're gonna go settings, dot get range, and our range is gonna be what c2 I think it was. Get value.

Now, anytime we say start, we're gonna get the value of whatever's in c2. So we want a, and we want a space, right? So we gonna go a and a space. I hate putting spaces inside of cells, but for this case I'm gonna do it and we're gonna undo it at the end of this video. So start, and we're gonna go ahead and save.

Now. Let's see if now if it works, there will be no changes. To this and there are absolutely changes. What happened? Oh my God. Function native code. What is this? All right, let's go back and what happened? What did we do? Maybe start as a bad word. Let's don't know if that's going to fix it, but we want settings.

C two. Let's double check that. That's the right settings. C two. I think that's it. Yeah. Let's do

four as well. So that's c3 just in case. We want to, oh my God, what is this?

Just.

All right. We still get function native code for some reason. Let's see what we're looking at. So we're getting the settings page or get value. Let's log and just see what we're dealing with.

Let's just see if that is literally the problem here.

And while that's saving, it's taking a long time to save. So might be some weird issues here. We'll look at the logs. Let me pause the video just in case it the, it's a video that's making it, oh, I guess it's done. So I don't need to pause the video.

It looks like it is completed. It is. See if it's logging what we need to see. Function native code. Oh, my one. Let's go double check that we got that correct. Then this is definitely, let's just double check here.

Oh, that's why I think I met, I didn't put in the parenthesis. Woo. Let's see if that fixes it, and I think it's still saving. Let's see. I'll just pause the video until it's all right. I think we got it saved. Let's go look at our function and it works fine. Great. So it was definitely the parenthesis that I messed up there.

And so now we can input this four and this four as well with this settings page. So all we need to do is we're gonna copy this code. And we're going to change it to middle and we're gonna change this to D two and then do the exact same thing, except we're gonna do the end. And this will be, and actually I definitely did that wrong.

That is not C D two, it's C three and this is c4. Let's save that code and go back and I'll just show you here. Settings we are just doing. C2, c3, c4. And let's just copy this cuz that's the same. And we can, in the meantime, clean this up. Cause we don't need any of these. Oops. We don't need any of these other cells.

And let's go back. Did it save already? It saved. And again, if it's correct, nothing changed. So we'll go to our inputs and we get, nothing looks different now. If we want to go and change it we can, let's just change it to all caps to see how that looks.

And I think what we need to do is just to reset it. I'm gonna. Cut that and paste it again, so it just reloads it might not have hot reload here.

Oh, you know what I didn't do? I didn't actually put it in the code. So here we actually have to put in middle, and then for four, we'll put in the end. Okay, now we have to save it and go back and let's see if it worked. Whoop, it worked. So now these are over here in the settings, and I think this makes a much nicer way for you to produce some of, template to sell to clients for you to use this for your own needs instead of having to go to the code here.

Each time and edit this I think it makes it a little more elegant. But what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go and after I finished this video, I'm gonna delete all this and you can now make a copy of this sheet and do this for yourself. I hope you learned something about how to get these values how to use this sort of push here.
