LinkTree in a Google Sheet

So what we have done is we've created one, we did use a emoji as a subdomain, and we have that redirect with I'm using name.com. You can use any URL director. Director I've used that to redirect to a Google Sheet web app. Then I've added this little code at the end where I go through, I just made three videos about how to create a link a click tracker, and a link redirect.
All that is in that video. I'll try to put a link to that in the description here. It's available to all members and also this sheet that I'm going to show you is in this is down below in the comments of the video. You can get everything. If you are going to reinstalls, I'm gonna explain at the end of the video.
A couple things that you should know, but those are repeating the little sort of troubleshooting and tips I give you when you create a link click tracker. But I'm gonna just reiterate those if you choose to not watch those and just watch this video. Okay. First off, what we've done is I just created these sort of four buttons and and.
I'm keeping track of the clicks here. I have simplified a little bit. The click tracker it just says this one page. It says, code here has the clicks here. Instead of creating a new function that creates a link, I literally just am. Using this and symbol using the web app URL and adding this slash unique equals, and then this code and what the code looks like actually is just to do get, that's it.
So we don't have another Function. What it's doing is once the web app is called, and it has this E which is actually the entire string after the question mark, it parses down what is the quote unquote unique. And what it does is it looks at the click code database. It finds out in the column of the second column.
Which one is that code in? And then it returns this url. That's pretty much it. It uses this for Loop to go through it. You can read this at a later time. And also, I think I go in a little bit deeper into how this for Loop Works. In the other video, this video is not about the click tracker because we've already done it, but I do want to point out that it does redirect.
It says redirecting. And it works, right? So it only works for me in an incognito tab. For you it should work an any tab. I will show you what it does. So it goes to this URL first, and then right underneath that campy.com. Mask gain is this web app. So you don't ever see the web app URL up here.
How does that work? I'll show you right now on name.com. I'm literally using URL forwarding. I've done a couple because it doesn't, it didn't work in the first like hour, but obviously that's because, not because it didn't, doesn't work at all. It's because whenever you do any changes to DNS properties, it literally may take not just minutes, but up to a day to implement or an.
So what I did here is instead of just I used just a, I could have done sheet.com, fee.com, but I wanted to test out a totally non sheet related thing, but you can use emojis in subdomains. So this xn hyphen u G eight H is actually the earth emoji with the America showing. So there's three different emojis.
The Earth. This is one, the one with the America showing. And that is a puny code of XN hyphen and u G eight H. You could, I could use thumbs up but I wanted to make a little bit of I really wanted to end up making like an amusement park as like Camie world in a Google sheet. And I. The newsletter, virtual mall and docs virtual mall that I've created.
I used that originally and then I realized literally halfway through making this, that it was like a Lincoln bio kind of competitor. And so I made a little template for you here. If you do want to just make a link list here for for any purposes. Putting in any in Instagram, in Twitter anywhere.
But right now it does enter through the parking lot and it tracks the number of visitors, which is the number of clicks. They can go to the elevator and move around. I'm gonna be adding more and more levels to this, but the first level I've gotten done is just the better sheets level, which gives you links to everything available in better sheets.
That's the Facebook group, the free newsletter, free Facebook group, free. Free 100 ideas. If you haven't downloaded it yet, go and get 100 ideas that you can make in Google Sheets, in gum road free Twitter free template. And of course if you're watching this video, this is some videos only available to members, so you've already bought it on on Gum Road or AppSumo or somewhere.
If you have not shared it with friends, family, with your colleagues, please feel free to share this Twitter account and this link to this, you can literally just copy. Link address to Campy world, which will I, I'll just be sharing some other projects that I'm working on and I actually haven't even put in a couple of the Gum Road Google Sheet products that I have for sale here.
Twitter Tweets, templates, a newsletter creator, all sorts of stuff that I'm gonna be adding to this, and also some other projects that are unrelated to Google Sheets. But just interesting for people. I'll probably be even creating a level of just things that I like. I do wanna feature other projects that are made in Google Sheets.
So if you're creating something in Google Sheets within 2020, let me know, send me a link and I'm happy to share it. If you're creating something in Google Sheets. What I think is important to let you know is that if you wanna make a copy of this and use it here's what's gonna happen. One just go up to here.
You have access to this. I think even the link I send you is just to make a copy When you go and you're trying to create sort of this web app when you click publish and deploy as web. It will probably already say, this has happened before. It'll probably already say this current web app url. Just click here, disable web app.
You have to save it or disable it. Then save it, then go back in here, and I think you have to disable it again. I think it'll have a yellow one Again, I talk about it in another video, but just make sure you disable it. Totally double check that when you enable your own, you execute it as yourself.
So me, like it's in your domain, it's in your Google Drive, and then who has access. It's very important that you do anyone even anonymous because you do want people outside of your domain. See, this is it's only anyone anyone within. My, my Google domain and only myself, you really wanna do even anonymous because you don't want them to have to sign in for half the day.
Today I had no idea what was happening. Every time I clicked it, I had to sign in and I was like, why is this happening? Just make sure that who has access to that, to this app? Is anyone even anonymous that fixed it up? And whenever you update it, if you change the code, If you change the sheet that it's on, anytime you want to change anything, if you want to say, add some more text to this redirection page, cuz it does show up quite often and quite for a long time as people might want to know, Hey, please wait, you're re being redirected too x all kinds of stuff.
And also, If you have any more things you want to add to this, let me know. I'm more than happy to help you or even just build it yourself myself and release it to the entire Better Sheets community. Alright, so thank you so much for watching. I hope you've enjoyed this link in bio or link Tree competitor.
Video and you have access to this. I can't wait to see if you actually put your links in your bio. Obviously you don't have to redirect it through some like masked URL like I have. You definitely don't have to use an emoji url. It was a little difficult to do. If you notice I haven't said it yet, but.
What's masked and what's redirected is just the bare web app url. For much of the day I tried to. Include this question mark unique and get the co unique code in there. It didn't work, so you have to add that after you do the masking or, and, or the redirecting in the url. But if you ha need any more instructions or you try to do it and you run into some problem let me know in the comments to let everybody else know.
And I'll try to reply and say, Hey, oh, this is what I missed telling. If you're copying it again, double check that you disable the web app. When you go here and publish, deploy his web app. If you are doing your own click tracking. If you're not click tracking, then totally use just this template and instead of adding these sort of scripts here, obviously you can make your own links here and not click it, but, and also you can get rid of this column.
Made it easier for you to right click delete column. And also you might wanna change this garish looking design. I made it, the buttons look a little cool, but probably a little too cool. I'll probably tone this down a little bit before I send this video. So thanks so much for watching.
Bye.
