How do you export a Google Sheet to PDF?
Google Sheets turns any tab or workbook into PDF through File > Download > PDF or the Print dialog. Control layout with print ranges, margins, scale, and repeat headers so multi-page reports stay readable. PDF is best for snapshots you email, archive, or attach when recipients should not edit cells.
When to use it
Use PDF export for invoices, one-page dashboards, board packets, and signed-off reports where layout must look identical on every device.
When to skip it
Skip PDF when the audience needs to filter, recalculate, or copy live data. Share the sheet or export XLSX instead.

Set the print range via File > Print or drag the blue border on the sheet to include only needed cells.

Open Print preview and choose portrait or landscape, fit to width, and whether to show gridlines.

Add headers and footers with page numbers, sheet name, or date from the Headers & footers section.

Adjust margins and scale until columns are not clipped in the thumbnail preview.

Click Next > Save as PDF Download, or use File > Download > PDF document (.pdf) for the active tab.
