Counting Stars QUICKLY

Learn how to quickly count star ratings in Google Sheets using VLOOKUP and dropdown menus. This tutorial simplifies the process of converting star ratings into numerical values for better data analysis.

This is pretty cool way to count how many stars we have. Created a dropdown menu with , star ratings, from 1 to 5. We want to convert this into a number . We cannot… Use COUNTA or COUNTIF . There's no counting of stars here. To count the stars, we set up a Vlookup Table going to call it VLOOKUP here. Three stars. Five stars. On the second column put the number . VLOOKUP the search key is going to be this C3. What's our range? This VLOOKUP. Our index is going to be 2, because want to look up the second column. Is it sorted? I always put false. And now we have our rating. If we put a dollar sign in front of the B and the 14, in front of the C and the 18, we could copy and paste it all the way down. If we change our rating here to four stars, rating here is four. Now we can get an average of all of these. Ken Asks: Can We Add Star Ratings? Ken Asks Can We Add Star Ratings in Google Sheets?
