class SlidesApp method .appendSlide()

SlidesApp is the Apps Script service.

.appendSlide() is the method name you will see after a dot in your code.

What it does

Adds a new slide to the end of the presentation.

Why it's used

  • Add a summary slide at the end with this week's metrics.
  • Clone a standard closing slide into every new deck.

Common errors

  • Forgetting parentheses on appendSlide. Write SlidesApp.appendSlide(), not SlidesApp.appendSlide or appendSlide by itself.
  • Skipping dots between chained calls. Each step needs a dot, like SlidesApp.appendSlide().
  • Adding spaces where they do not belong. Write SlidesApp.appendSlide(), not SlidesApp .appendSlide(), SlidesApp.appendSlide (), or SlidesApp . appendSlide().
  • Wrong capitalization. Use SlidesApp and appendSlide, not slidesapp or appendslide.
