Why I built this
I always wanted a very simple system to create inbox labels. I know that sounds silly—but hear me out. I wanted a few layers of labels and to process them in a certain way.
I check my inbox many times a day. I want to see some emails and know they will be archived by themselves. So I label them “archive-able”—I want to see all of those archived, but I also want to see those emails when they come in first.
Weird, right? There is not a tool on earth that does that for me. I looked. I signed up for Leave Me Alone (I love it!) but there were these other little things I wanted to do.
I also wanted to snooze my inbox for a day—just snooze it all. Sure, I can do that in Gmail with a few clicks. But I wanted a remote control to do that. Specific? Yes. Weird? A little. Worth it? Absolutely.
So I made this Sheet with remote controls in it: set up labels, archive once a day, delete all emails from a single sender, snooze everything. Pop open my inbox and it is clean. I threw in some fun easter eggs too.
As of June 2026, I am actively adding more features. Buy it, use it, want something else? Email me.

Features built for efficiency
🗂️ Smart archive automation
Tired of manually archiving notifications? Move threads out of your inbox but keep them searchable.
- Daily target cleanup: Scans and archives emails from designated senders at 5:00 AM daily.
- Dynamic learning: Mark an email archivable—DeClutter harvests the sender, adds them to your spreadsheet registry, and archives future mail after you have seen it once.
🐷 Tailored spam & nuke tools
- Probable spam deletion: Maintain a custom spam-sender list in your sheet and permanently trash their emails with one click.
- Emergency nuke option: Need a clean slate? The protected “Nuke My Inbox” feature wipes your current inbox after triple-confirmation.
💤 24-hour inbox snooze
Deep focus mode: Hit pause on distractions. Snooze your entire inbox, instantly clearing all threads until tomorrow so you can focus on deep work—your personal path to inbox zero for the day.
🏷️ Spreadsheet-powered label management
- Color-coded organization: Generate parent and nested sub-labels (e.g. Work/Clients) from a sheet layout.
- Visual editor: Pick background and text hex colors in Google Sheets—DeClutter paints and updates labels right away as you pick.
This part is cool: as you pick a color, it updates in the sheet.
Use cases
Use case 1
Newsletter triage without losing the first read
Label “archive-able” on digests you want to skim once, then let DeClutter sweep them overnight—Inbox Zero by morning, history still searchable.
Use case 2
Client email vs. notification noise
Nested labels from your sheet (Work/Clients, Work/Alerts). Archive vendor pings at 5 AM; keep human threads in Primary until you act.
Use case 3
Deep work Fridays
One-click 24-hour inbox snooze from the sheet. No tab-hopping in Gmail settings—open the sheet, snooze, ship.
Use case 4
Repeat offender senders
Mark one promo as archivable; the sender lands in your registry. Future blasts never clutter Primary again.
Use case 5
Post-launch inbox reset
Triple-confirmed nuke when a campaign floods replies—then rebuild with labels you designed in the sheet.
How people use it
“I wanted inbox zero on weekdays but still see shipping updates when they land. The archive-able label plus next-day archive is the first setup that matches how my brain works.”
“I run client work from Gmail. DeClutter builds Work/Client labels from the sheet and archives SaaS alerts before standup. My team thinks I have a assistant.”
“Snooze-all from a spreadsheet sounds ridiculous until you do it daily. One cell, inbox empty, deep work until tomorrow.”
Inbox Zero, your way
Inbox Zero is not a religion—it is a system. DeClutter supports Gmail inbox zero workflows: batch archive, sender rules, label hierarchies, focus snoozes, and spam hygiene—without Zapier bills or extensions that read your mail on someone else’s servers.

FAQ
What is Gmail DeClutter Engine?
A Google Sheet plus Apps Script that automates Gmail: archiving, labels, snooze, spam cleanup, and inbox nuke—controlled from cells and buttons in the sheet.
How is this different from inbox zero apps?
Most apps are all-or-nothing. DeClutter lets you see mail once, label it archive-able, then auto-archive later—plus sheet-native snooze and sender registries.
Do I need coding experience?
No for daily use. Setup uses Google’s script editor once; the sheet is your remote control after that.
Is my email data private?
Yes. Code runs in your Google Account. Better Sheets does not host or read your mail.
How much does it cost?
A one-time $20 purchase on the Better Sheets tools page. Lifetime members get it included.
Does it work with Google Workspace?
Yes—personal Gmail and Workspace accounts that support Gmail in Apps Script.
Can I achieve Inbox Zero with this?
Many users use it for daily inbox zero: snooze, scheduled archive, sender rules, and label systems that match how they process mail.
What about Leave Me Alone or similar tools?
Great for unsubscribes. DeClutter complements them with sheet-driven archive timing, snooze-all, nested labels, and nuke workflows.
Will you add features?
Yes—actively through June 2026 and beyond. Email andrew@bettersheets.co with requests.
