Muiltiple Choice Quiz in Google Sheets QUICKLY!
Learn how to quickly create a multiple choice quiz in Google Sheets using the Quiz Builder extension by Better Sheets. This video walks you through the process of setting up your quiz without the hassle of manual entry.
I have a quiz, actually. I have all of the questions, all of the answers , multiple choice answers , the correct answer here, and I need to make a quiz really quick. How do I do that? Well, I created a Google Sheets extension that's going to do this for us really quickly, but I want show you first why it's so difficult. Let's create a form, tools, create a form. This is called a quiz, and we can call it anything we want quiz, and we can mark it as a quiz, go to settings, make this a quiz. And now I can put in each question. Now I have to copy and paste each question in here, and then each option already you can see the issues, right? I have to now copy and paste each and every item here, and
I have to mark the correct. What's the capital? France? It's neither of these, but sometimes we're gonna make mistakes, right? So we actually have all of the answers here, all of the questions. Why can't we just programmatically do it? Let's do that. Go up to extensions, add-ons. Get add-ons. This is completely free, by the way. Search for quiz. And it's called Quiz Builder. You can actually also just go quiz Builder if you want, and it'll be right here by Better Sheets. Quiz Builder by Better Sheets is gonna do exactly what I'm gonna show you right here, right now, and we're all we have to do is install it quickly. It's gonna take just a few moments to install, allow everything. It's not sending data anywhere else, it's just gonna do the work of building a quiz for you.
Once we're done, it's an extensions quiz builder here, and we have two options. We can create a quiz or create a quiz tab. The interesting thing is it must be in this particular format , a question number of points, correct answer option A, B, C, D. You actually have up to E. F and G options if you want more than four options. But how do you remember that? Well go to quiz builder, create quiz tab, and it's going to create a tab for us and name the columns. Here's the question points correct Answer is gotta be A, B, C, D, E, F, or G. And here, put the options here. So if you already have these somewhere. All we have to do is copy and paste these to the quiz template there.
We'll call this quiz, and now all I have to do is go to extensions quiz builder, create quiz. It's gonna ask me what's the name of the quiz? I'm gonna call it Quiz. Okay. It's working. It's working. It's working. It's doing it. It's doing it. It's doing it. Now it's done. Quiz created. I did not have to copy and paste anything. Do you wanna open the quiz form now? Let's go. Let's go see it. Yes. So what we do have to do, however, is share this. Anyone with the link , right? So we got that link and now we can share this Quizzle. It's named Quizzle. It has all of the questions and it has the answer, correct answer already set. Here's Mars. What's the correct answer is Mercury. What planet closest?
The sun. Perfect. It has all the points. Now I can send this very quickly off as a quizzle to anyone who needs to take this quiz and they get scored and I can see all the responses and the scores here. I think it's really, really awesome.
