Learn how to effectively use the SUMIF function in Google Sheets to sum sales data based on specific criteria, such as the month of January.

Here's how to use sumif inside of Google Sheets. So we're going to try to sum all of the months of sales where they are in January. So let's put January in the sale, E three over here and next to it. We'll do sumif now sumif is really funny because it only needs three things. We need a range . That's the range where your criteria is going to be. So in this case it's the C column, and it's C, c. We can also type that and the criterion, we're going to use E three here, but you can also just type in a word. But I like using this reference, the cell reference, and then the sum range. Where are we summing everything, and that's B. B or the B column.

We can also delete this and just select the B column. As long as we have these commas here, it's going to allow us to see how many sales we have in January, and that's sumif you are watching better sheets here on YouTube.
