How to Re Order Google Form Responses

Learn how to reorder Google Form responses in your linked Google Sheets, ensuring your data is organized as needed. This tutorial provides a step-by-step workaround to adjust the order of columns in your responses.

Maybe you have this situation where we're trying to create our form here. We have form responses and we have name. Are you coming? But we want to actually have an email and we want to ask the email first. And this happens. We go up to tools, manage form, edit form. We're going to add a question email. If we go back to our form, our email is over here in the D column. But what if we want the email to be in the B column? Because. Our Google form has email first, then name, then are you coming? And if that's the particular order we want, we may want that in our data as well. Maybe for some reason we've created an automation that looks at that column, or we just want it to be that way. This is how you do it. So first off, we're going to keep this form. This is our you attending form.

We don't have to change anything about the form, and don't worry, we're not deleting the form, but go to the form responses here, and we need to unlink the form. Click unlink. When we do that, the logo will go away. Our form doesn't change, doesn't move, and we're going to delete the tab that our form responses to is on. Click OK. Now back on the form, go to responses. It may say View in Sheets here, but after we unlink it, it should not. So we're going to refresh our form, and now it says Link to Sheets. So we're going to click that, select Existing Spreadsheet , because we have a spreadsheet already. We're going to click that spreadsheet that we find, insert it. And now, our form responses says Timestamp first, then Email, then Name, then Are You Coming. Now our columns are in the right order.

So hopefully that was helpful to you. It's a little bit of a work around to reorder your responses in the sheet, but I hope it's helpful and I hope you can do this yourself. Enjoy. Get More Sheets Help
