You're going to find out how to insert a column in Google Sheets in this video. I'm going to go through a number of different ways to insert a column. We have a little bit of data here and we just want to add more interesting information or analysis . On any of the columns at the head of the column, I can select the entire column and I can right click and I can either insert a column to the left or the right. So if I go to the right, it'll insert it to the right. These same options are up here in the insert menu . Insert, columns, and I can insert one column to left or right. Notice, however, that one column is bolded. That will change if I select two columns. I just have to click and drag my mouse across two column headers here, the A and the B.
And if I right click, now I can insert two columns left and right. Same thing in the insert menu . Insert two columns left or right. This makes it so that you can insert as many columns as you can select . There's one other way I can insert a column is select a column and click on the down arrow next to the letter of the column. Here I can insert one column to left or right. Select two columns, select the same down arrow, and now I can insert two columns to the left or right. Once those columns are here, if you want to continue adding more and more columns, in fact, if you want to add maybe hundreds, take the entire selection that you want and insert four columns to the left. Next, if you select the entire sheet, you'll notice that the insert columns will be however many columns you have, you can insert that many columns.
So we can double this a few times and get hundreds and hundreds of columns. Let's insert 12. Let's select that as well again. Select the down arrow and see there's 24. Select it again. 48. As you can see here, we can add now multiples of 2, 96. So we're going to get into the hundreds of columns very quickly if you need that many columns.
