How to Create 64 Team Bracket in Google Sheets
Learn how to create a 64 team tournament bracket in Google Sheets, similar to the NCAA basketball tournament format. This tutorial covers merging cells, adding borders, and customizing your bracket layout.
Let's create a 64 team tournament bracket. This is very similar to NCAA basketball tournament bracket. We're gonna start off with the four first areas, right? The 32 teams on each side, so 32, we're gonna use these. Brackets here, or borders. Let's make 'em thick. Actually, let's make it the middle one. Thickness. And I'm gonna copy and paste this over here and we're gonna add as many things in between as we need. So halfway through. So that's 32. Actually we need one more there. 32. Let's go and view no good lines. And from this, we're gonna have a winner, right? We're gonna need to merge these cells .
I'm gonna add the border around here as well. And then I'm gonna just copy and paste this down all the way here. We're gonna split this at some point. Let's copy and paste these over here, and now copy and paste this, but merge these. So be the next round, next round. We're gonna need more columns. Insert a couple more columns. We're gonna need to merge these. Merge these all the way down to here. See. So each time, each round we go through, we have only one winner from these two, one winner from these two, one winner from these two. We're down to the final eight.
So we can see we need a row right here with no borders. And we need just one more column. And let's merge all of these. I think we need actually one more column. We'll have the final four here. And do we need one more column for the final match ? Let's do this instead of. I'm gonna zoom out a little bit to see what we're working with. So let's do it actually. Weird, a little weirdness here. Let's change our format a little bit. Make these smaller, and do two, two columns.
Let's merge that, put a border around it, and we'll have our final matchup. This team versus this team. We can make this as big as we want or fill this in with any kind of logo or image here, or even text. We can say something like, let's make it merged all together. Let's make this much bigger. Let's go 44, 64 team bracket, and we can put logos or sponsors here or lists of links, anything we want. So that's a 60 14 bracket. We get our final matchup here after 32 teams on this side, 32 teams on this side. Very cool, right?
