How to Add Access with Expiration to a Google Sheet
Learn how to grant temporary access to your Google Sheets by setting an expiration date for collaborators. This tutorial walks you through the steps to share your sheet with a specified time limit.
Here's how to add someone to your sheet with access, but only for a certain amount of time. We're going to go up to the share button in the top right corner, share . Add their email address. And over on the right side where there's a drop down menu, click on add expiration. It defaults to one month, so maybe we only want them to have access for one week. So next Friday. September 13th. We can click the drop down menu to select a time, and let's say end of day, 5pm, we're going to click done. Now I can notify them, or I can not notify them if I'm going to create an email separately, but I can also notify them and say, check this out, you have one week. And click send. If it's someone outside your organization, you will have to share it anyway. This is what the email looks like when they get it. They will have a time and day that is to their time zone . And they will have the message here, check this out, you have one week.
And they will have a link to the spreadsheet .
