So, I want to go into how did I build Bigear? Well, first I want to tell you what Big Year is. It's a free Google sheet that is a yearly calendar template inside of a single tab. Yes, that's right. This is one tab and it goes from January, February, March, April, all the way to December. So, it shows you every single day from January 1st all the way to December 31st.

Now, I want to go into all of the details about this and how it works and what I did to create this template , but I want to share with you sort of why I created it and where the idea came from essentially.

sheet, what I like to do is seven columns. And so, it's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, all the way to G. delete all of the other columns. And this is a week, right? Seven days is a week. And we can put in a date. We can even do today. Today is the 31st. Actually, today is Friday. And I'm just going to copy paste the values there.

Let's say I want the first of the month. I'm going to get the year that today is in. I'm going to get the month that today is in. I'm going to wrap it all in date.

And then in this cell, this is also January 1st, 2026, but I am just formatting it to show the day of the week.

That's it. That's how you conditionally format every weekend across the entire year. Isn't that pretty cool?
