So if you want to do approvals, you don't have to do checks like this, and you don't have to put in check marks with an emoji here. We can do something far different which is actually use checkboxes. So you can select an entire column and insert checkbox . And there you see the header is cast as something else. So we'll fix the header . And again, we'll select the entire column , we'll insert checkbox . And we'll change this back to no. And you could theoretically still do two columns, but you don't have to. Inside of the checkbox, it's either marked true or false. We can change that, actually. Go to view more cell actions, go to data validation. Over here on the right side, we can use custom values and we can say yes or no. Done. And we have all of these are now yes or no here. So the value yes or no is done, but let's say the, that's cool.

If you only want to do one box, yes or no, but let's say you want to do stages like stage one, stage two, and let's turn this back into true or false. And what if we just want to know if both of these are checked, we can do equals if. Logical expression is going to be, needs to be a single one. If we're going to say both of them are checked, we're going to use and b2, comma, c2. And we need something to say here or we're going to get an error . So if the value is true, meaning both of these are true, we say approved, let's say. And if they're not not yet approved. So we can copy and paste this all the way down. And we can see which ones are approved and not approved here. But let's say we don't want both of them checked. We just need, maybe this is an approval and only one person needs to approval.

So we have Sam and we have Barb and we only need one person's approval here. So it's going to look something like this. We want to know only if anybody has checked. Checked off. So instead of an and we're going to use or so again, copy, paste everything down and you can see only the ones that have a checkbox checked are approved. See, this one can move to approved with a checkbox . An interesting thing is going to happen here if we want to insert, let's say a com, a column here, and we want someone else's approval. We have maybe Carl, maybe even one, two, or three more. We have Dave here. They all need to approve it. Our formula is not flexible here, so let's change this. To account for more stuff being added. And let's say we only need one of these checked, so we need to use count if

our range is going to be B two colon, E two, to just get that one row and we're going to count it only if it is true. And now our logical expression just needs to be that count if is greater than zero. And that is if we only want one of them. to be approved. So here we go. We just need any one of these. So we can copy paste this all the way down and now we can see any of these are going to be true. But let's say we have more than Let's say we have Adam here as well. And we need a majority of these to be checked. So we can change our count if and our if logical expression to say over three. Actually over two because three or more is going to be in a majority. So let's move that. And now not any of these are approved yet until we get three.
