How to Lock a Tab in Google Sheets
Learn how to lock a tab in Google Sheets to prevent unwanted edits, ensuring that sensitive information remains secure. This tutorial covers the steps to protect a sheet and set permissions effectively.
Here's how to lock a tab. We have employees and we have past employees. We don't want anyone editing the text in past employees, so we go next to the name of the tab, this downward arrow, click it and click protect sheet. We're going to protect this sheet. And set permissions here, we can either show a warning when editing this range or restrict who can edit this range . If you have multiple people associated with the sheet, you can assign them permission to edit, or you can just say, only you, so only myself can edit this sheet and click done and change the save. And now this sheet is protected from anyone else from editing it. It's essentially locked.
