00:00 I'm Andrew better sheets. And this is a sheet improvement video. I'm improving Noah Kagan and Absa Mo's framework, Google sheet they've given for free.
00:10 So, uh, Noah Kagan here, featured here, he launched a product, a $30,000 product in 20 days. And in order to get the idea, he actually used this exact framework, um, in a Google sheet, uh, he determined, uh, put a bunch of ideas, determine which one was the best based on these selections.
00:29 And over the next few minutes, uh, I'm going to be creating a better version of this. So to do that, I'm going to do it in real time.
00:37 Um, I'm going to make a copy right here in front of you. So, you know, I didn't do anything else other than this.
00:42 So, um, let's call it better business idea framework and like, okay. Uh, most of you watching now are probably from AppSumo.
00:55 Thank you for coming. Uh, most of the better sheets members are up Sumo lanes. Um, and so I think this will be really fun to watch me make a better version of an app Sumo product, this, this framework.
01:08 Um, so let's talk about first, the idea behind this, right, a user is going to, um, write down their idea here, right?
01:18 Some more descriptive details. Um, then they're going to, uh, as a team, uh, create this one through five they'll, they'll have a goal impact.
01:30 And Noah goes through this in the video. I watched that whole video and then I, I, I did learn how he uses this, right.
01:37 Um, so the goal impact is like how much money are you going to make? How much impact is it going to have on your particular goal?
01:43 And your goal might be to make more money. But what the tidy Cal goal was when they use this, was to gain more new customers to AppSumo lanes.
01:55 They wanted to drive more. That was their goal. Their goal was not necessarily, they'll make $30,000 in 20 days, or as, since it's launched, um, the E's one through five with five being the easiest, um, is like, can we make it, can we actually do something about this?
02:12 Um, viral is like, how, how much are people going to talk about this? How much, um, are people going to be able to like, get really excited about it and then push it out to their friends.
02:24 Right. Um, and then talking about excitement. So the hype is how, how much are they themselves? Like, I'm the creator of this?
02:33 How much am I hyped about it now? Um, one thing he did here is it's one per vote. Um, and I think this is like everyone on the team gets one vote.
02:42 So I already know I'm gonna make one big change here. Um, and then here's a total score. Now, ideally your result out of this is that you sort, by this column, you write a bunch of ideas, 10, 20, 3,000 ideas.
03:00 You Mark off individually, like fine tune, uh, your focus and each individual idea really give it a score. And then this total will give you a sortable score that you can then see what are gonna ha what's gonna have the impact and how easy it, what, which one should we actually work on.
03:21 So I'm gonna continue making this as a team, right? And I'll show you one extra thing I'm going to do here.
03:28 Um, but let's talk about what changes I would make first off. I would, if we're going to spend a lot of time typing, uh, in here, and we're going to spend a lot of time with these details, I want to make these two things bigger and more easy to view.
03:46 Um, I noticed when I'm looking through here, they had to color code this. So they needed some X, some other thing, right.
03:58 They had the scores and you can see this green, yellow, and you can see that you see, they have a lot of writing as well.
04:04 And I wonder if the amount of writing they do does that, does that give you an indication of like good or bad as well?
04:14 If you have nothing to write about, if you don't really know what you're doing, right. And you have no more details, it's probably not going to be easy to build.
04:22 It's probably not going to be like really citing. Like if you keep writing about it and you're like, Oh, we could do this and this and this and this product idea.
04:29 If you have like a lot of writing, that might be an indicator too, of, uh, of goodness of goodness of that idea.
04:36 I'm like, Oh, I'm really excited to write it. And you might not necessarily score it correctly later if you see a lot of writing and someone's like, Oh, that's a lot of writing, but really that might feel really good.
04:47 Um, but I do wonder I'm looking through this. So I see these scores are 15, 14, 13, 12, and these scores are sorted properly.
05:01 The color coding here is just like a shade difference. So I'm might change that because we really want to like draw the line.
05:11 Where are the lines here? Like if we have 20 ideas and five of them all match, um, or three or two, or there's only like two or three at the top, I really want to like see those really, really well.
05:22 So I'm gonna change that. Also. I noticed one more thing is there is an infinite number of rows and columns, not an infinite.
05:34 There is a lot. And I find myself, this is a pet peeve of mine. I get really, really, um, um, lost in these sheets.
05:43 I mean, I use Google sheets all the time and it's just a pet peeve of mine, um, that there's like an endless amount of rows that I can get lost.
05:50 And then this header, like the ideas go away. Like, I'm like, wait, where am I? Um, so I'm going to fix that right away.
05:56 Here's a couple of things we're going to do away to make this easier. One also a pet peeve of mine is turn off this filter.
06:02 Um, we don't need this filter and I'll show you, I will create another view. So I'm, we'll we'll name this right?
06:09 Well, we'll name this ideas and we're going to add another sheet actually, before I do that, I'm going to make this sheet better because we're going to duplicate it.
06:19 Um, we want to have like an output. We want to know what is the sorted one. Um, but I don't want to have to do what I'm about to do twice.
06:27 So I'm going to do it first here on this ideas page, and then I'm going to duplicate it and that makes it a lot easier.
06:33 So one, everything from H over delete, we don't want to get lost here. Um, I'm only going to put in 10 rows.
06:46 We can add more if we want. Let me See if I can click it over there. Okay. Um, cannot. Oh my God.
06:59 It's my, uh, Wi-Fi or it's loom. I don't know. Okay. We are going to shift that Shift and command down and delete all those rows.
07:12 And we're going to spend a lot of time here. I want this text to be really fun and warm. Okay.
07:20 Now this is going to be better. So I want this text to be really nice and warm, and I want the background, background and text to have less, um, contrast.
07:30 So first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to make the background, my favorite paper color F F B F a F eight.
07:40 So that's Facebook, fate, fate. And that is a nice warm paper color for this background, for the text, for all of the texts, I am going to use text color custom four 44.
07:55 That is hashtag four, Four, four. And that is a little less, not charcoal, but a less, um, contrasty, um, thing.
08:08 And we're going to get a rid of this aerial as well. Now these seem like silly, uh, useless, um, fixes, but they are going to make the experience of working in this for one day, two days, three days, and sharing these ideas so much nicer.
08:25 We're just going to have a nicer experience in this sheet. Um, Yeah. And We're going to, if we're going to write a lot here, you know, where I'm going to go get some alarm, if something so we can see what it looks like one second.
08:40 All right. So I just added some text here to see, uh, how it looks. And I think this looks much more wonderful than Ariel.
08:49 It makes it feel warm. You can obviously change the colors and actually I'm going to, um, do one more color change.
08:59 I'm going to look at absolute most colors and make sure that we got the right colors. All right. So I grabbed app sumos, um, not really logo, but I found this sort of image on that from AppSumo.
09:10 This is their color scheme. Uh, we have white text with this green, a bunch of different green shades. Um, and when you're using this HTML color codes.info to just grab these different, um, color codes.
09:24 So I'm going to grab this green here. And what we're going to do with that is we are going to stylize this a little bit, just up here on the header, instead of having just a bland, um, gray or something, we can create a custom color here.
09:40 Let's put it there. Okay. And it's gonna feel like AppSumo product, right? When they, when they give this better visit and this business idea selection framework, um, it's gonna feel like AppSumo is work.
09:54 Um, we want the text in the header to be white, plain white. Great. Um, and then we have one more color to work with, and it's this yellow down here or gold.
10:07 I can't really tell, but we don't really have to tell, um, we're just going to grab this furthest. So this gold we're going to use in a couple of places.
10:17 I think, um, I'm trying to think of places to use it now, but instead of doing that, what I'm going to do is just put a settings here and I'm going to just save some settings here.
10:30 This is a really good thing to do on a sheet. If you want to, Um, this is gold, gold, gold, gold.
10:42 You just want to remember different things. I'm just going to put that there. Or if you want to give someone in a sheet, the ability to change the shape as they will, they can create a settings tab here.
10:56 We're just going to use it to keep some notes. So maybe I'm just going to do notes all right. Back to the ideas.
11:02 So now that we have, um, a nice looking place to put our information, we do, we didn't get a rid of that filter because we didn't want to filter.
11:13 We actually do want to filter. We want to sort this by, uh, this total score here in column G. Well, what we're going to do is we're going to duplicate this and we're going to call this top ideas.
11:29 We're going to delete the information here, and we're going to instead put an equal filter. We're just going to filter everything in ideas, uh, from a to G um, by column G.
11:48 So Gotcha. That's sort not filter, um, and Ideas a to G And then we're going to know which column is it going to be, right.
12:06 And you can always look at this thing sort, uh, column is going to be G. So we need a number here.
12:11 A is one, two, a, B, C, D E F G is seven. I always have to double check ascending. We would be like from lowest to highest.
12:21 We want descending from highest to lowest. So we actually want false here. And now over on the right side should be our total score.
12:29 And it's 18 is at the top, but we have this header here. So we actually have to go back and do a two there, and that'll get us everything, and it'll be sorted by this total score.
12:39 So if we go back to our ideas and we fill out this total score, let's, let's fill out. This is just going to be a simple sum.
12:48 And we have all this down here, but we don't want to have to cup. Normally we would copy and paste this.
12:55 And I think that's fine. Um, ah, I see. So that's going to be a copy paste. What we can also do here is an array formula.
13:12 Um, And then everything will be summed. Um, let's just get them. Look, they're zero. Let's put in three, three, three, three, Nope.
13:30 Three second. Okay. So I've had a rethink here because we want, might want to re um, move these rows around on the ideas page.
13:43 We don't want to use anything That might mess It up. So we're going to just copy and paste this sum formula all the way down.
13:51 So we have all the zeros here. Um, but we don't want to show if it's a zero, right? Cause if it's zero means it's, it's like, there's nothing there.
13:59 So what we can do is if is blank. And we want to know If, um, just a Two is blank.
14:09 And if it's a two is blank, we don't want to show anything. If it's not blank, meaning there's some idea there.
14:15 Um, then we do want to show the score. So do that there. And I'm going to copy paste this down.
14:22 And so now We have Scores until we hit nothing. So if we don't have an idea, we don't have a score.
14:32 And I think that cleans it up a little and it does point out like, Hey, this, that we haven't scored anything Yet.
14:39 Um, all right, Now let's just put a few more year. Let's give some Fives there. So now this one is going to be, let me my face.
14:52 It's going to be 18 as well. Let's say it's a five and let's say this one's three. And so this is 19.
15:00 So this one, if we did our top ideas correctly, it should be at the top. Let's see. Yep. And we have number nine and 19 up here.
15:08 Great. So now We don't have to click anywhere. We don't have to sort anything, um, manually. All of our top ideas are here.
15:19 Uh, what I do want to do as well is what if we don't necessarily want to see every single idea sorted?
15:28 What you can do up here is come up and through like a filter and say like anything above a five or something or above zero.
15:36 Um, anything that's, you can add more filters here if you wish, but let's make this a little bit better. Let's keep making it better.
15:44 Um, back I go back to ideas. Um, what is, there's two things I want to do differently about the scores, just to make it a little more visually interesting.
15:56 Um, and perhaps give I'll show you how you can change it to make it more voter friendly. And if it's a larger team.
16:06 So let's do that. Um, this is one per vote. Now, if how many people are on your team or how many people are making the decision, right?
16:13 Um, it's not going to be 12, 20, 30 people. It's probably going to be a small amount, maybe three, five, eight.
16:22 People are going to have some kind of vote here. Um, so what I'm about to show you is good for small teams, I'd say less than 10 or 12.
16:30 Um, or even if it's just two or three, you want everyone to have a name Vote here. So this is Right now, just a total aggregate vote, but we really want to see like, who has what, like who, who voted for what?
16:44 Um, maybe you only want to give everyone one vote to pick one of these, or maybe you want to say, Hey, everybody has two or three votes, and then your scores are going to be different.
16:54 But how do you do that? When, how do you keep track of every single person? You just add some lines here.
16:59 We're going to insert right here. We're going to insert. I'm going to do four to five. Um, for this, I need to increase the size of this, um, row.
17:14 You'll see why in just a second, let's increase it to Two 40. Is that 40? That's increase it to 80.
17:28 Um, and we're going to take all of these Rows or columns, want to resize the columns to like twine. Great.
17:40 And then in here, I'm going to take this text rotation and move it, twist it 90 degrees. And so now everyone has their name vote and you can put them in any order you want.
18:02 You can add as many as you want. I'll show you how to do that. Once we get through this. So everybody has their vote.
18:08 Let me give everybody a little bit more room. Let's resize this column to 30, because we want to be able to click here.
18:18 Now, everybody doesn't have a zero or one. Let's do a thumb up or thumb down. You don't have to use the thumb down.
18:25 You can, you can just, um, you can just use a, a vote, a tally point. Let's look at data validation.
18:34 I'm going to do a list of items and I'm going to put in a thumbs up and I'm going to put in a thumbs down, thumbs down.
18:52 Can you get the thumb up? There you go. So save. And now if I click here, I can click. I can select thumb up or thumb down.
19:03 So I'm going to click sum up. And if we paste and delete, I'm going to just copy this cross, copying this down.
19:23 I'm going to delete everything. So everything has no, um, vote here. Now, how do we take a thumb up or thumb down and create a score out of that, right?
19:35 That's going to be one point for everyone. So we know it's sort of easier. Oh, it's not necessarily easier. I'll show you one way.
19:45 So this total score is right now, currently some of C2 to F two, but we want to take out that F to E to comma.
19:54 Now we want to count how many count. Yes. Um, the range is going to be F to two J to count if what we want to count, if there is a thumbs up and let's see how that affects the score.
20:16 See, now every time we click thumbs up, it affects the score up one. And all we had to do was add this count.
20:26 We had to first say, Hey, a thumb up or a thumb down then using emojis. Um, now we counted if there's a thumbs up, counted as w counted.
20:35 Um, and if there's zero, we have plus zero. So let me just change one more thing. I'm going to select all of these.
20:44 I'm going to put them all in the center, just so that they look okay. Um, I'm also going to change the size again.
20:55 I do want it just a little bit more to 35. That's great. And I think this is going to be great if it's a little higher 15 and let's look at that.
21:14 Yeah. So that looks a lot nicer. We have this dropdown menus. You can click here. Someone doesn't know they can just double click there.
21:25 So you'll click gets you in double click. It's no one click it's you on DoubleClick. It's Doing all Right. So we have thumbs up, thumbs down.
21:37 Let's make it a little more fun too. To grade. These goal impacts ease and by reality, so we can do pretty much the same thing here.
21:48 We can create a data validation, a list of items. And for my reality, what are we going to use as our emoji?
21:56 We want to have one emoji, two, three, four, five, um, for, for virality, let's do like the Twitter bird, right?
22:06 One Twitter bird gets us. That's the least vitality to three. We're going to separate these with commas. And we're going to have five Twitter birds there for the most vitality.
22:19 This is gets people talking. And if we double click here, now we can say one, two or three or four birds is Twitter, birds, and we can also let us down.
22:33 Let's flip those. All right. Now we notice our total score also doesn't show anything. So we're going to do, um, uh, one more interesting thing.
22:46 Can't really count the number of birds. Cause it's gonna be like one through five. What we need to do is change.
22:54 Um, one bird to the number one, two birds, and number two. And we use that. We're going to go into our, some, we're going to use switch Or case.
23:08 Let's do a switch. Okay? So we're going, Oh yeah, we needed, you switched. So our expression is going to be E to Our case.
23:18 We're going to end the parentheses case. One is if it is a one bird, and if it's one bird, we want the value to be one.
23:28 If the case is Two birds, you want the value of be too Cost. So are Doing every case that it could be, which is going to be three, four, five, one, two, three, four, or five, Comma four.
23:56 And then I'm a one. Last one. Five of them is going to give us the number five and why are we doing this?
24:02 Why are we doing so much work to make this visually appealing is because we want this experience of figuring out a business to be fun.
24:10 And we want it to get away from this just kamikaze husk kind of numbers. We want to change these to a visual representation.
24:20 Um, we'll differentiate between these as well. So the four, three, two, visually, visually representing the number as a number doesn't displace like the visual representation.
24:32 It doesn't visually represent the number. Whereas three birds or one bird or five birds is going to take more place.
24:38 And you're going to be able to easily differentiate between five, 403, Right? So we can see these are all is let's do here and let's choose.
24:53 You can visually see that there are five birds here and two birds here, whereas a five and a two Take up the same amount of space.
24:59 That's what I'm trying to say. All right, let's do either. And goal impact, goal impact. Let's do a, we're going to take to this copy basis here.
25:13 We're going to go to data validation list of items. What is our list of items for goal impact going to be let's choose, Um, like something around money, right?
25:30 Cause that's Mainly our goal. If you want to use a different, Um, thing, Then go ahead. If you have a different goal like users, maybe it's people, and we're going to do exactly the same thing, five, five options Save, and let's see do five of those go back to our total score.
25:59 And Right now our score is the sum C2. So we actually want to take this Out, let me do switch, um, C two one, one, and I'm going to Pause the video.
26:13 So, and come back When I have this done. Okay. And for the ease I'm using the mind blown emoji here.
26:21 Um, cause I think that if a product is easy to use or a business is easy, um, then the consumer, the user's mind will be exploding.
26:33 So we're going to save that. And again, we're going to go back to our total score. Let's make sure we use a mindful in here.
26:41 Could use that for hype. We can use that for virality. Well, um, it's up to you to go and change that.
26:47 So our switch for, um, D two is going to be the hipbone again, we're going to be one, two. Emojis is two, Two, three is three.
27:10 I think I let's do it here. Then we went to a different line. We can make this bigger. If this formula gets big.
27:25 And again, you really won't have to edit this. If you use, um, moneybags, mind blown or tweets, um, if you don't use these, you will have to come in and edit them.
27:36 But, um, that's why I want to show you, um, how to edit it. So four and then one, two, three, four, five, five.
27:47 And so now we have money. Hand-blown mind exploding and Twitter for virality. Um, we're going to hit enter. We have an error probably because what did I do wrong here?
28:01 Probably forgot quotation marks somewhere. All right. Figure it out. There's three is not actually three, three emojis. There we go.
28:10 Now we got a score. So now as we choose each of these, right, where you just double click and choose four emojis, this number changes.
28:21 So let's look at the size of these as well to do 15, to make them bigger. Let's make these three, a little bit wider, nicer.
28:35 Let's make it just a tad wider. There we go. So they fit all five. Let's also just for aesthetic. Look, let's point these all in the middle.
28:47 So there we go. And we're going to change this for all of them 15. Um, we are going to copy and paste this total score down here.
29:02 You have some NAS, right? Because we don't have anything here. Okay. So let's delete those. So now if we have no, no score, we have NH, but we don't want an AE to show up, Hey, we want a message that says, Hey, you should be scoring this, uh, select your scores.
29:22 So let me add in the beginning of this formula, if an a for, if there's an error and at the end, we'll add common.
29:30 We'll put a little message, need to score. There we go. And now we have a message in our total score category.
29:40 Let's bring this to the center as well. So we can read right across, um, there, I want to make this actually a little smaller and then change this.
29:54 There you go. Perfect. So now this will say, need a score. It looks good. We can keep it all in one, we can read these details.
30:04 We can score it and see the total score change over here. If we want. And each person gets a score, uh, in our company.
30:12 Um, we can add as many of these as we want, because if you add in the middle of this range, say, we want to add someone next to Katie.
30:21 We insert one of the right. It gets all of the, um, data validation of everything else we go, Linda and our score remember was F to, uh, to K2, uh, or what it wasn't.
30:38 K2 is G2. And now that automatically discount if automatically increases. So we don't have to change anything about that score.
30:45 Total score. If we add someone in the middle of F to K now, um, you can also to lead people in the middle.
30:52 It'll be all right, but now we have total score. You have the idea. We have the details. This looks and feels fun and exciting.
31:03 Uh, the experience of, of writing here is, is nice. The, the contrast is not killing our eyes. We have fun emojis.
31:11 We can even pick and change these emojis if you wish. Um, all you have to do is change the emojis here and the data validation, and also in the total score, you're going to get an error if you, um, do not change the total score here.
31:25 Okay. Um, and I think this is a better business idea, selection framework. It's a better experience and more fun, more exciting.
31:33 Everybody gets their own vote, um, and thumbs up or a thumbs down right on. And it's counted. You can see maybe you want to get everyone to book.
31:43 Maybe you just want to say, Hey, everybody go thumbs up or thumbs down on everything. Um, it's your choice. You have top ideas are, are here and we have something messed up here.
32:00 So let's fix this. This is really exciting. So this, um, this page is gonna how let's, um, it's gonna need less information actually.
32:15 So one second. All right. So I went a little different direction because, uh, for the top ideas, because our ideas tab has all of our ideas.
32:26 We can sort it, we can filter it, we can do everything we want to, but what is the thing that we really need to know, um, to move on with our business, right.
32:36 Uh, we just need to know what's the top idea at the moment. Um, so what I did is I got rid of all of the scores and just got the product idea and I used filter of, and B column of ideas, and I filtered it by the max score.
32:51 So anything that had the max score on the, um, score, um, column. That's what I got here. And I have score in here just to double check that that's what the score is.
33:02 Um, but we can also delete that if we want. Um, we know, uh, we also have one more thing to do, um, to make this better.
33:12 And it's with this color, I think we have an opportunity here to have a goal anchor, uh, gold standard here.
33:20 So I'm going to copy this color. I'm going to delete this tab and what we're going to do here on the screen.
33:28 He has one is we're going to find what is the max score? And then we're going to color that right here.
33:34 The max score is just a green over here on the right. We don't want to know that we, we can see 17 is more than 14.
33:41 We want the entire road to light up and say, this is the best one, right? We can go to this top ideas here.
33:49 If there's like sort of some ties or something we can differentiate between those. Um, but on our ideas, we just want the best one to light up.
33:57 So here's what we are going to do. Um, and sometimes it's a little tricky. I have a great video on this in, um, the better sheets course, you can buy it on AppSumo right now, as of right now, um, better sheets it's available for $19 a month, or the lifetime deal is like two and a half months.
34:17 It's it's $49 currently price on AppSumo go check it out. Better sheets.co, or AppSumo better hyphen sheets, uh, check out better sheets on there.
34:28 I have a great video about exactly how to do this. And I'm going to show you right now, what to do, not going to just tease you and say the videos and you have to pay for the video.
34:35 Now I'm going to show you how to light up the entire row here, based on this data validation. It's sometimes tricky.
34:41 I'm not good sometimes too. So let's do this. We go to data validation. Um, Nope, we don't, you know, conditional formatting, Oh my God, totally conditional formatting.
34:57 And here's our color scale, right? So this is what Noah did. They, they, they sort of looked at these shades.
35:02 I don't particularly like the shades because I think that that, um, gets, uh, it gets really annoying for people who can't differentiate the shades very well.
35:10 Uh, like a lot of people have some color issues, color problem. Some people are blind, they can't, they literally can't see any of this.
35:17 Um, and like, this is a real problem that, that affects a lot of people where they can't tell different colors, uh, red, red, and different shades.
35:26 So I don't necessarily like to do it. Um, but let's just get one color and light up the entire row with one color.
35:34 So we don't have to differentiate between differentiates. Um, all right, we're going to apply Elta out. We really just want the, uh, we don't want, actually, we don't want it to be color scheme.
35:48 So we're just going to delete that. And we're just going to say a single color. We're going to go format, um, custom formula.
35:58 We're going to use to their color first. Let's choose our color first. It's going to be this great goal, this great, this horrible.
36:10 Let me get this color again. We want a goal. If we don't want Brown, let's, let's use this for now.
36:16 This is goal color. Um, what is our, what is our formula? So custom formula says the first equal sign is not an equal sign.
36:29 It isn't considerate as an is. Our custom formula is, is equal to not equal is, um, we want L to M is equal to max L to L.
36:48 Okay. And now what it's saying is that L two, and as it goes down, this, this we're applying to the range L two down to L 12.
36:56 Um, can we even do that? Uh, and it will automatically change this, this L two to whatever the row it actually is on.
37:04 So let's click done. I'll show you what this looks like. Let's see what it looks like. Right? Only number 17, which is the highest score, which is the max score.
37:14 Here is lighting up. We want the entire row. How do we do that? We apply the range 82 and now everything the max, what does second.
37:30 Okay. So why everything is, is, is colored because we have applied the range, everything we don't want to, we want to lock, um, the numbers right?
37:43 A little bit. This is a little confusing. Okay. So basically what is going on is that the color is being applied to everything because relative to our, for our formula is relative.
37:58 We need to move it to an absolute, we want to know only what gets the score is L so in our formula, the only thing we have to do is put a dollar sign in front of the ELLs, and this will fix that problem.
38:14 That's the solution to the crazy problem that these formulas are relative not absolute, and we change it to absolute. Um, and so our entire row is lit lighting up in this great goal, our goal, our goal business idea.
38:33 And if, if for some reason, you know, we, we changed this and let's, uh, make this a better, we come up with a better idea later, right?
38:46 Every not everybody's gonna love it, but it's hype. It is good. It is fun. Okay. Well, you didn't, we don't have the product ID number, so, Right.
39:13 So if something else comes around and we have a bigger score, that's going to turn yellow right away. Um, we'll see here.
39:21 Like, what if we do that? We move this down. We say, this is good, but we don't like this anymore.
39:30 Cause there's other ideas way better. Oh yeah. Same vitality. And now there's 12 score. Is this turn, the crane idea is way better.
39:44 So something interesting that's happened is down here, we have all of these yellow, so I'll go and fix that one second.
39:51 So to fix, um, all the yellow at the bottom, we had to have something in this L column. And I just put in an idea.
39:58 So if, if a, the, a column is blank, uh, this there'll be no score. So we're just going to say, Hey, add an idea.
40:06 Now our top ideas are over here. We have everything that matches the top score. One second. This looks like an error.
40:22 So we have these two that are good. And this one, 12, shouldn't be highlighted. So I'll fix that one second.
40:28 Okay. One more tricky thing with our conditional formatting. So let's go back to our conditional formatting. Um, why that 12 is showing up is because we forgot to lock this too.
40:42 Um, so I'm going to add a dollar sign right in front of the two. So as we said, L two is equal to the max L two to Al, which is the entire column.
40:50 And if we don't not lock the two, we're using the dollar sign to lock the two, because as it moves down, it says, okay, a three is equal to the, is it equal to the max of a three down to L is a 10 equal to the max of eight, 10 down to L N.
41:10 If we add a dollar sign in front of the two, now every single one of these will be the same max, and it'll be fine.
41:18 See, now 12 is not highlighted. Perfect. So we've done all this work so that we turn out a better business idea, selection framework.
41:29 I think this is much more fun and exciting to work in. Um, you obviously turn off this, um, conditional formatting.
41:36 You can even, um, just go to here format, Conditional formatting, If you want to like, just write down your ideas before just trash this, but also save it.
41:48 And you can go, go back and add to it later, just to save that in the notes tab somewhere. But you can delete that here, remove it.
41:56 Um, If you, if you wanted not score things, let's see what happens. If everything is unscored because the first time you or something it'll show up yellow, right?
42:09 And the first idea is never the best idea, right? So you have need to score, need to score, need to score.
42:16 And nothing is when people start scoring and we don't have a score here. So it still says need to score So great.
42:30 Let's get one, one, one, boom. That's five. That's the top score. We have no winner while we haven't scored anything else, but that's a terrible score.
42:43 Right. Um, and I think, I think this is a really fun way to add a little levity, to picking out an idea.
42:51 You can set your goal. If it's money, if it's users, if you can use a different emoji, um, you can also use a number here if you do wish, but I do like the visual representation of two versus three versus five.
43:07 You can really see the difference here and see what is the real difference between something that's rated 10 and nine you'll visually see that here.
43:15 I think that's fun. Um, and we can, We don't have to sort this each time we can just look for the gold one or go to top ideas and see here.
43:25 This is the top idea. Boom. We got it. We're great. Uh, thank you for watching. Again, check out better sheets.co for well over 150 videos on how to do better.
43:34 Google sheets. Bye.
